Departure of my parents

20 oktober 2012 - San Giljan, Malta

Lieve Papa en Mama,

Er zijn van die dagen dat het tegen zit. Ondanks dat jullie het niet erg vonden was dit wel zo'n week. Precies deze week was het weer slecht op Malta. In het hotel waren meer dan één kakkerlak en precies op de terugweg hebben jullie net te veel vertraging om de aansluitende vlucht te halen, om vervolgens een hele dag te wachten op een volgende vlucht!

Ik hoop dat jullie ondanks dit alles een fijne week gehad hebben! Ik heb in ieder geval genoten van alles! Ik mis jullie en jullie gezelligheid nu al! Tot over 7 weken en ik hoop dat jullie nog een fijne zondag hebben. Ik heb al wel de sport opgenomen. 

Vandaag had ik een BBQ gehad bij een Italiaanse klasgenoot. Het was erg gezellig! Helaas hadden ze alleen wat veel schaaldieren ingeslagen, en wat weinig vlees :D! De foto's zullen het wel laten zien!

    Wat nou, slecht weer, ik heb genoten van 27 graden elke dag!!
    Heathrow is me zeer slecht bevallen, vermijd deze luchthaven als je kunt!!!

    Kom op Sophie, je zit nou op een eiland waar de verse schaal en schelpdiertjes in de meerderheid zijn ten op zichte van de koeien en de schaapjes. Mooie gelegenheid om tegelijk met het Engels ook je culinaire kant te ontwikkelen ;-))

    With Borussia Dortmond beating Real Madrid elsewhere in Group D, bottom-placed City are now five points behind the Spaniards in second-place and six adrift of the Germans at the top of the group with three games to go. The Blue Moon has disappeared behind a cloud in Europe.

    Brimming with talented individuals but still struggling to adapt collectively to the different currents in European waters, City’s £175.1 million starting line-up were given a lesson in the art of defending, passing and finishing by Frank de Boer’s excellent, young Dutch side, a team assembled for only £3.5 million.

    If individual mistakes from the likes of Joleon Lescott scarred the display, throwing away a lead given by Samir Nasri, City were not helped by some of Roberto Mancini’s tactical changes.

    The Italian, a good manager still waiting to convince in Europe, altered his defence from back four to back three; poor, dizzy Gaël Clichy almost required a map and compass to remind him where he was, having gone from left-back to centre-half to right wing-back. Mancini’s commitment to zonal marking will also come under renewed and acerbic scrutiny after more hapless defending at corners.

    By the end, City were 3-3-1-3 with Carlos Tevez behind an attack of Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero. There was too little width to serve this famous four.
